Recent Progress of Multiferroicity and Magnetoelectric Effects in <i>ABX</i><sub>3</sub>‐Type Perovskite Metal–Organic Frameworks

Multiferroics have been investigated extensively in the last decades due to their wide range of applications high-density multistate storage, spintronics, and novel multifunctional magnetic–electric devices. One peculiar subgroup multiferroic materials comprises 3D perovskite metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with general formula ABX3 (A = monovalent organic cation (such as an alkali metal or protonated amine), B divalent cation, X anion), for coexistence multiple orders (electric, magnetic, elastic, et al.). The purpose this review is give a representative overview recent progress field ABX3-type MOFs, containing 3d magnetic ions at B-site. First, MOFs which X-site occupied by formate, examined summarized. In particular, magnetoelectric coupling effects, such electric-field tuning properties control electric polarization, pressure structural/magnetic/electric properties, are described discussed. Then, it focused on structural phase transitions ferroic analyzing several compounds none-formate. To motivate researchers area, some promising topics that not yet fully explored finally proposed.
